One of the most common practices in the industry is to use ceramic fiber modules anchored in steel to insulate the inside of industrial furnaces, these modules usually coming in a standard size of 12in x 12in (30.5cm x 30.5cm).
The problem with this is that the modules form joints when the fiber contracts at temperatures above 1,000°C (1,832°F). This allows heat to escape, affecting the anchoring of the module and considerably shortening the useful life of the insulation. Heat leakage can also damage other furnace components.

What is the Jointless system?
We can say this is the upgrade, to what the industry knows as Mostermodule.
It consists of a monolithic macro-module of ceramic fiber blanket, folded and anchored to a metal mesh that is assembled within the furnace structure to increase durability.
This system prevents the appearance of joints in flues or openings and prevents heat leaks from reaching the metal structure and damaging the equipment.
The objective is to avoid having joints between modules, thereby obtaining a single piece that covers the entirety of the roof or walls.
Unlike other insulation options that usually last only a short time, the Jointless system has a considerably longer useful life.
Jointless for forging applications
This technology is considered the most effective in the world market for forging applications.
It should be used in equipment for:
- Carbon steel and stainless steel forging
- Forging applications in general where operating above 1,100°C (2,012°F)
- Applications featuring regenerative burners, since there is better flame resistance
- Heat treatment furnaces
The Jointless system is especially recommended in the manufacture of:
- Batch furnaces
- Car bottom furnaces
- Tip-up furnaces
- Continuous rotary furnaces
