The 33rd edition of the HOTSPOT – NB: Combustion Seminar event was held from August 28 to 30 at the Camino Real Hotel, located in San Pedro Garza García, NL, Mexico.
The key event for new combustion operatives
Our seminar is considered by many companies as a vital component in the training of their staff, recognizing our leadership in the market, something which again was not the exception this year.
At this event, especially aimed at engineers, technicians and personnel responsible for the operation, maintenance, installation and design of furnaces, combustion systems and/or ceramic fiber installation and applications for industrial heating, various combustion issues were discussed to achieve objectives and improvements such as:
- Decrease fuel consumption (gas and diesel savings)
- Improve product quality
- Increase productivity
- Reduce pollution
- Work with greater safety, according to current regulations
Sessions led by industry experts
We lined up speakers with decades of experience in industrial furnaces and all kinds of combustion projects for numerous companies throughout the world, mentoring on key issues affecting the industry:
- Alberto Cantú
- Roberto Reyes
- Adalberto Barrera
- Ernesto Pérez
- Manuel Montes
- Ernesto Pérez
- Rafael de la Torre
- Andrea Cárdenas
- Rafael Vela
Most relevant combustion topics covered
During the first two days of the event, the following topics, workshops and talks were addressed, with their respective question and answer sections carried at the end of each session:
- Combustion fundamentals
- Air/fuel ratio
- Components of a combustion system I and II
- Furnace control systems
- Fluid flow workshop
- Burner selection
- Logic power and security
- Ceramic fiber
- Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation
- Fuel saving systems
- Furnace types
- Forced convection furnaces
- Industry 4.0
Factory tour and demonstrations to perfectly round things off
On the last day of this event, a tour of our facilities was provided to look more closely at:
Gas train station / testing
The delegates were able to interact with our various industrial furnaces and find out about their operation and composition, to complement what they had learned in the talks over the previous two days, with emphasis on the safety, procedures and regulations in force when working with combustion systems.
Once again the objectives were met
At this event our guests acquired knowledge directly related to their specific industry, and certificates of recognition and souvenirs were given for their attendance at the event.
We hope next year to have delegates as involved and enthusiastic as we were lucky enough to have encountered at this edition of the HOTSPOT Combustion Seminar.
See you in 2020!
