What are the stages involved in manufacturing an industrial furnace?

Designing and building an industrial furnace is a process that combines advanced engineering, precision fabrication, and deep knowledge of heat treatment applications. At NUTEC Bickley, we see each project as more than equipment delivery, it is the creation of a reliable system that will sustain high-performance operations for decades.

1. Conceptual (Basic) Engineering

  • This is where we established the final dimensions, the construction materials, the mechanical components, the thermal capacity and combustion or electrical heating system.
  • We make sure to include all necessary information to get the expected performance from the final product.
  • If necessary, CFD simulations will be performed to make sure our equipment will meet the temperature uniformity requirements.

2. Detailed Engineering and procurement

  • All of our mechanical designs are produced on 3D-CAD software ensuring every assembly will fit with each other.
  • We produce state of the art electrical diagrams and PLC programs.
  • From there, we proceed with the procurement of all necessary material/components for the manufacturing phase.

3. Fabrication

  • Based on engineering work established, the structural metal assemblies, the insulation solution and heating systems are put together in our facility prior to delivery.
  • The control panels are assembled and temporarily connected to the furnace components.

4. Factory Acceptance Testing

  • All mechanical, electrical and heating systems will be tested to make sure everything meets the expected performance and quality prior to shipping.

5. Installation and Commissioning

  • Following disassembly and shipping to customer facility, the equipment is put together on site prior to the final commissioning where the systems would receive final calibration/adjustment and tested to make sure it meets the expected performance and quality expected from a NUTEC Bickley furnace.
